# The Rooms Behind the Gallery Sixty-eight [[Hall of Mirrors/Hall of Mirrors|Hall of Mirrors]] entries, continuing this guide's gallery sequence. The Hall's uploaded self takes shape through what it keeps: early songs, childhood art, inherited objects, working notes and borrowed images. Read together, these fragments suggest a self assembled through memory and relationship. The discarded version, the unfinished thought and the people behind the music all have a place in that reading. A room's name can open another room; a notebook page can be divided among several doors; a poem can put the same animals into motion that a diagram fixes on a ladder. The entries below follow those relationships into the songs, characters and ideas they help us understand. A shared source gives the fragments context, while a symbolic correspondence remains a reading. The rooms are listed **in the order they opened**, not in an authored narrative sequence. Their numbers continue the sequence used in this guide. <span class="jt-standalone-marker"></span> ## Before you start `A phrase in this typeface` is the exact wording that opens a room, and **exact** means exact. One wrong apostrophe and nothing happens. Where a key ends in <span class="jt-space">␠</span>, there is a single space on the end of it, invisible, and it matters. The maze's own text box quietly strips that space, so those rooms could not be opened by typing at all. **Filed under** is the Hall's own label for the shelf a room sits on. There are thirteen shelves, and every room sits on one of them: *Concealed Generations*, *Phantoms of the Past*, *Seeds of Infinity*, *Buried Things*, and so on. Its filing matters. **Life Changing Connections (VI Link)** contains the Hall's largest family cluster, but it is not exclusively an ancestry shelf. The panel covers only a small part of the inherited painting, leaving the figures, crowning gesture, choir, musicians, throne, and architecture legible around it. The operation is not concealment by covering. It is insertion: a first-person search is placed inside an already ordered, sung, hierarchical cosmos. The key comes from the moment when reading becomes perception. The preceding stanza says the speaker read about chaos and its order; then comes *“A secret order everywhere,”* found in trees, rocks, cells, seas, and frogs. Only later does *a* secret order become *the* secret order. The key therefore sits on seeing, before the poem hardens that sight into a settled statement. Roy later posted Jung's line about a secret order in disorder, which strengthens Jung as a retrospective source candidate. The post came years after the artifact, so it cannot establish the direction of influence. The painting likewise supplies Christian and Marian iconography without making the poem name [[Characters/Stars/Mary|Mary]] or declare a doctrine. What the room securely joins is an inherited sacred image, a natural order discovered by the speaker, and an ending still concerned with consequence, killing, wealth, home, and another chance. Here it sits over a desert; there it sits over vintage animated advertising, a mascot and a product. Holding the plate constant changes its function. On the commercial it can still sell something. Over the earth it becomes a form of address with no obvious product to point toward. That pairing sharpens the title's pun without forcing the dune to “mean” a feed. **Content** can be what fills the earth, what fills a media channel, or the state of being satisfied. The project moves the question between those senses, while the number provides a literal route from *Happy Face* into the Hall. The room reads as self-portrait by substitution, with the Man present through the Rabbit. The dream also contains a second rabbit, [[Characters/Stars/Sir Lucius|Sir Lucius]], distinguished by clown makeup. This animal is unpainted, so it more closely resembles the narrator's rabbit, but the shared rabbit-register should remain visible. The room does not prove that only one figure can stand at the gate. In the inverse animal/body map, Rabbit sits at 10 while feet sit at 1, placing the pair at the embodied World-threshold. Rabbit is the one animal in the ten-seat bestiary that no compared tradition seats at this station: Crowley's *777* has no rabbit or hare at all, and Agrippa lists the hare under Saturn and Mercury, not the Earth. The pair condenses controlled fire, flight, testing, and family memory. A test pilot takes a vessel into danger before others can trust it to cross. A lighter contains ignition. Filed beside the Hall's aviation and family material, the object reads as a practical counterpart to the project's more visionary vessels: transformation needs something built, contained, and tested well enough to carry it. The inheritance layer should remain a reading. The Hall clearly places the lighter inside a family-heavy aviation cluster, but nothing on the object establishes whose lighter it was or whether it was inherited. Its function does not require that biography. A public utterance is brought back into the self-archive and filed as **Personified Inner Monologue**, retaining its speaker metadata rather than becoming an anonymous quotation. The sensory category becomes information; the social post becomes an interior voice. The key adds a final invisible layer: `Information` followed by one space. The space cannot be seen in ordinary display, yet it changes the lock. A room about information is opened by information the interface conceals. The board cell and tweet both date to 2021, but their order is unresolved, so the five-word line may compress the paragraph or the paragraph may unfold the line. Within the Hall, that reads as a warning about the act of division itself: the threatening outside group becomes a split inside the observer. The key `Caution Roy` adds a second direction to the warning, turning the address back toward its maker. The unicorn panel supplies an inherited purification-and-pursuit setting, but why this exact tapestry was chosen remains open. The meaning turns on the words and their second-person reversal. The numbers on the poem run opposite the stage numbers on the coloured musical ladder beneath it, so each station is being counted from both ends. The structure matters more than any single animal: the same path can be read as ascent or descent depending on where consciousness enters it. (Each animal's two lines are gathered on its page in [[Hall of Mirrors/The Bestiary|The Bestiary]].) Direction changes the meaning of each rung. At eight, the descending speaker says *I was a scientist*; ascending, *Its thoughts followed me*. Mind changes from an identity to something that can be observed and disidentified from. At nine, the Moon Machine that keeps time on the descent becomes a Moon eclipsed on the ascent. Growth upward is therefore not simple improvement. It strips familiar identities of their authority and can darken what once functioned as orientation. The sheet also explains why the animal-equation rooms form a route rather than a loose symbol list. Their stations stay fixed while the sentences and the point of entry change. Descent is not automatically a fall; it is the movement by which an abstract pattern enters time, body and ground. The screenshot places differentiation and self-retention in the same frame. The typed cosmogonic cells that share this board field with the animal column (near-identical to the lyric of [[Another Way II Heaven]]) say *One become Two* and *I became You*, and at their foot, at 9, remind the self that “I” was still I. That line is typed lyric on the board, not part of the handwritten animal lines. The operation is separation without total loss of relation, a recurring concern of the Hall: how multiplicity can appear without the first unity disappearing. There are eleven creature images beside ten numbered lines. The unnumbered vulture is pressed between stations three and four, the same seam where other Tree drawings place an unnumbered interface. In Kabbalistic terms that resembles the hidden Da'at/Abyss interval, but the page does not name it and does not show anyone crossing it. Two inherited texts mark the same seam elsewhere, Crowley's Abyss line on the emanation page and W. G. Gray's *Abyss In* on the Tree-thinking drawing, which makes the Da'at reading a strong one, though Roy never writes the word. What is secure is the formal interruption: the numbered system contains one visible presence it does not number. The station does not determine the sentence; direction and point of entry do. Here the key names light outside the visible range. The contrast is unusually clean: body-process and contact on one side, invisible radiation and incomplete embodiment on the other. Neither key proves what species the figures are, but the pair makes incarnation and release legible through their different lower bodies. Both Angle figures belong to the Jagwar creature family, while the possibility remains that they are different states or members rather than one recurring individual. *Identified Angle* belongs to the family too, and the [[Hall of Mirrors/Artifacts - Drawings and Sketches|drawing archive]] gathers the wider Angle group. Its strongest through-line is differentiation without final separation: one form divides so that relation and a world can exist. Peter's `XIV` is first of all a regnal number in the caption, not a proved tarot key. Tarot XIV, Temperance or Art, remains a useful framework because it joins opposed materials without erasing either one, but it should not govern the page. The more grounded operation is already written there: One becomes Two, polarity appears, and bridges, stairs and vessels keep the two in relation. `Rainflower` gives that operation a living form. A seed carries compressed potential; rain descends; a flower unfolds multiplicity. The label `seed of life, Jaguarships` suggests a carrier bringing potential from above into a visible world, but it does not establish literal spacecraft. The city name remains uncertain. The key `self doubt` places division inside the mind, while the facing page is opened by `Superficial Conclusions`. In Hermetic Qabalah the Lightning Flash is the descent from source into the world; here the room reached by climbing is named for that descent, and the poem narrates the same downward return. The completed wiring therefore reads as a return rather than a chain that simply runs out of links. Within this guide's distinction, it reads as a circle rather than a loop. Rabbit comes back to the starting place after encountering the Moon, Fox, Dove, Spider and Sun, carrying a recovered heartbeat and the memory of the route. The spelling `hemidall` recalls **Heimdall**, the Norse keeper of Bifröst. The plane becomes a crossing-machine inside a family archive, while Heimdall names the keeper of the crossing in inherited mythology. The handmade owl presents a readable face, turns until it becomes an unreadable dark form, then returns to a face again. The circular aperture around it also narrows to a sliver and reopens. Nothing is destroyed; legibility departs and comes back. The function is restoration after a turn away. Its key, `Q373`, is a board cell whose digits reverse the row of the owl on the board's animal column (737). The compact wordplay **G OWL** becomes **GLOW** when the L moves into the gap. It suits a night-seeing bird filed **From Darkness**. An early work remains active inside the later Hall, where the record's title opens a door years later. The wider early-work history is gathered on [[Roy]]. The Hall preserves the same release in two different states. *Yellow & Elephant 2* shows the shrink-wrapped retail CD, complete with barcode, price sticker and physical carrier, and files it under **Phantoms of the Past**. This room removes the package and gives the image alone to **Time Garden**. The pair reads as a memory separated from its commodity form: one room keeps the sold object, the other keeps what time has left in the image. This is how the early bands function in the archive. The song is a publicly listenable 2022 Sound.xyz release, presented there as “a lullaby to myself, from myself.” Its central image corrects an older tendency to treat the Moon as trying to be promoted into the Sun. Here Sun and Moon are co-singers: even when they are out of view, **they** keep singing **their** song. Restoration is relationship, and the listener's heart can become a home for that continuing relation. The public [[The Moon]] page carries that correction, while [[SOL]] keeps the still-open question of whether this demo belongs to the later song's origin. The room appears to preserve a shorter export of the same take, with a different ending. This is another state of a known song rather than an unheard new song, with the exact version relationship still open. The Sound note gives the song its own cycle: every night a death, every morning a rebirth. That makes childhood here a returning relation rather than a date. The key points to Genesis 1:26, “in our image,” while `4 worlds` sits beside a triangle, divided square and circle. Within the Kabbalistic framework, the cluster reads as a divine pattern descending toward human form: image-making is the operation by which an unseen structure becomes a person. The artifact performs a quieter version of that relation. A part has been made into an independent object while the whole remains available elsewhere. A reader encounters a fragment made in the image of its parent, then opens it with a verse about image-making. This also belongs beside the board's Upload question, where a self becomes a reproducible image or pattern, though nothing here decides whether that reproduction preserves the living relation. This pairing is an interpretation of the crop and key. By giving the fragment its own door, the Hall lets a single question within a dense cosmology be visited on its own. The Kabbalistic Four Worlds are a plausible framework, but the page neither names nor orders them. *Strange Theory* is also the name of the label behind several 2020–21 releases, so the words may be a heading, a signature or both. Attention becomes the condition for following the route and noticing what it conceals. The title and the note belong to the same economy. “Cha-ching” is the sound of money arriving; the note asks for attention. In [[Pay Attention (feat. little luna)]], paying and what is harvested are the same resource. The room turns the pun into a pointer: the reward for paying attention is noticing the concealed term and the route already sitting in the frame. It places non-terminating continued fractions for Φ, √2 and √3 beside Genesis 2:10, where one river goes out of Eden, waters the garden, then parts into four heads. Mathematics and scripture share the same operation: a compact relation continues generating form beyond its first statement. The room's deepest contribution is that growth is an outflow. The river lives by leaving its source and branching; the continued fractions persist by repeating a finite rule without arriving at a finite end. “Out of Eden” is therefore both a location in the verse and a way that pattern enters the world. This does not prove the equations and verse were composed as one argument. The page places them together, and the wider sheet repeats branching through the GOD circles, the Fibonacci plant and the four rivers. Fibonacci growth preserves a relationship while each new term changes the visible form. The drawing makes recursion botanical: the pattern survives because it can produce the next state. Around the Hall's launch period, its public language repeatedly returns to growth: seeds becoming trees in human minds, first-person tree and fruit language, “Everything's a tree,” `You are the genesis`, rivers of thought, and ideas growing from one mind to another. The room belongs to that dense growth vocabulary rather than standing as an isolated doodle. Calling the drawing the **Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil** turns Eden from a prohibition into a problem of generation. A daisy is not literally a tree, but both become carriers of the same rule: relation produces branching form. Read with [[#221 · Out of Eden|Out of Eden]], the page offers a careful answer to *How to Live Forever?*: continuity is not stasis. A river persists by flowing, a plant by growing, and a recursive relation by producing another term. Family keepsakes sit beside diagrams and inherited texts. Read as a self-archive, the Hall makes relationship part of what a person contains. The **VI Link** shelf's echo of Grandma Vi is suggestive; its name also belongs to the language around SARAVI. **Reassembly becomes part of reading.** The [[#158 · Genesis Tree Code|Genesis Tree Code]] joins a creation diagram to a song through the naming of the song. The [[#180 · Fox=Mind|animal relay]] lets a poem's journey be followed through actual doors. Parent pages restore context to their fragments, while songs and drawings can show what an idea does in different forms. The links are demonstrable; the larger story we read through them still needs its own argument. **The unfinished belongs to the work.** [[#165 · Soul Is A Star, Unreleased Adlibs|Adlibs]], [[#175 · Dreaming on a Golden Couch|rejected cover art]] and [[#177 · 167 Octa|early recordings]] preserve choices and possibilities that the released catalogue cannot show on its own. The Hall makes those earlier states available again. In that sense, remembering is an active part of the project: what was set aside can return with a different use.
