Later opened rooms 155–222 continue in [[Rooms Behind the Gallery]]. > **One-line reading.** Hall of Mirrors is the Jagwar Twin metaverse — a web3 puzzle-world built on the fiction that the artist uploaded his consciousness to the internet and scattered the pieces of himself behind locked doors, so that the fans who decode the clues are the ones who bring him back into the light. It started, like a surprising amount of this project, as a joke. Roy English told the studio building the thing: *what if I uploaded my consciousness to the internet so there could be a 24/7 social-influencer version of me?* Everyone laughed. Then they built it, played it straight-faced, and the joke turned out to have a whole cosmology inside it. Here's the fiction. An artist's consciousness gets *uploaded* to the internet and shatters into fragments "lost in the code" — drawings, voice memos, family heirlooms, old tweets, scribbled cosmology pages. Each fragment is sealed in a room behind a code. Find the code, open the room, recover the piece. It is the single biggest thing to explore in the entire Jagwar Twin world, and it is not a gallery you stroll through. It lives today at **mirrors.jagwartwin.com**, and it was built with the studio CTHDRL across a six-drop campaign in 2022. The public framing is its own **Manifesto** — a complaint about an internet that swapped the things that matter for their metrics. Roy lays it out as a substitution table: *immersion* traded for **volume of content**, *purpose* traded for **reach**, *feeling* traded for **algorithm**. Against that, the manifesto wants the opposite of a follower count. *"I don't desire more followers. I desire to see more leaders, more free thinkers, more truth seekers."* It signs off with the line that becomes the project's whole theology of the self — *"We are not defined by what we do, but by who we are. All I am is that I am"* — a riff on God's name to Moses in Exodus, *I am that I am*, which is roughly the level of ambition we are dealing with. So the artifacts you uncover aren't collectibles. They're fragments of one person's symbolic operating system, turned into a game you play with other people. Opening the maze is, in effect, learning to read the project's private language well enough to speak it back. ## How it works Two kinds of object live in the architecture. **Crowns** are the keys: free, minted when you connect a wallet, composable access passes whose look and rarity reflect how much you've actually participated — *"your keys to the universe."* **Artifacts** are the prizes: one-of-one pieces "lost in the code" during the upload. Discover one and the room it unlocks opens for *everyone* — but the artifact itself stays yours alone. Community access, private ownership; the door swings open for all, the object goes home with the finder. The governing ethic is the part Roy is proudest of: **attention over money.** Every one-of-one artifact is *free*. You cannot buy your way to a rare one. As he put it during a launch-week Space, *"we're incentivizing attention more than money… It doesn't matter how much money you have."* This produced the maze's best running gag: when it launched, the deep-pocketed NFT collectors flooded in — thousands of mints in hours — and got comprehensively out-solved by broke superfans with spreadsheets, who'd been reading the clues for months and stayed ahead the entire time. Because the codes are seeded out in the actual world — tucked into campaign drops, old tweets, video frames, lyrics, the artifacts themselves — and no single person ever sees every clue, the maze is built to be solved *together*. A crowd comparing notes, testing guesses, sharing what opens. One community solver named the method on launch night: *"the codes are hidden within stuff we've had over the past like six months."* Roy confirmed it — solvers were *"creating spreadsheets, organizing — okay, Roy tweeted this two years ago, maybe it's a clue to this."* That is the heart of it. **Participation is the art.** The maze converts an audience into a community of decoders, and the act of collectively recovering a hidden piece *is* the meaning — many separate people returning the same lost song. There's a shadow to that too, which is where the deeper readings live (below). But the surface is clean and generous: a hidden thing comes back because a crowd of strangers cared enough to read closely. The maze is **meant to be solved.** Not cracked open to steal a secret answer key — the reward is the experience of reading closely, in good company, and watching a buried thing surface. ## What's inside The recovered fragments read like a tour of the project's underground. A few of the named ones: - **"How to Live Forever?"** — a hand-drawn cosmology page from the project: a hopscotch ladder from Earth to Heaven, a Lo Shu magic square, Eye-of-Horus sense-fractions, a Fibonacci daisy labeled "Ways of Growing," golden-ratio math, and Genesis citations in the margins. It is, essentially, a creation myth that is secretly also a clock. - **"Coding Consciousness"** — a handwritten note: *"Patterns of right Living are Formed in the unconscious mind of a race so that it becomes easier to follow for generations after."* Culture as software, written down. - **"Egg"** — a 2021 tweet whose *entire text* is the single word "Egg," posted over Vladimir Kush's painting of a cracked world-egg with the sun rising between the shell-halves. The only authorial content is one word. The deadpan minimalism is the joke and the meaning at once. - **A test-pilot-school lighter** — a silver flip-top with a USAF Test Pilot School emblem, part of a whole father-and-grandfather aviation archive woven through the maze (a grandfather's WWII plane, a grandfather's mask, a model aircraft, "Dad's Clock," "[[Artifacts - Gallery 2 (38-74)#71 · DAD'S WOODEN HORSE|Dad's Wooden Horse]]"). The artifacts aren't trivia. They're the building blocks of the world, made findable. ## Where it appears - **mirrors.jagwartwin.com** — the live site: its original public **gallery** carried 149 catalogue records (each card showing the unlock code, the discoverer's handle, and the timestamp — open to view, no wallet needed), alongside a leaderboard and crown-gated rooms. Later recovered room records extend the archive beyond that original gallery. - **The Manifesto-FAQ** — the public-facing statement of intent and the rules of crowns vs artifacts. - **The 2022 campaign** — six CTHDRL drops across the year: *Going Dark* (3/30), the *Spreadsheet Map* (4/08, where Roy tweeted *"I'm dropping a spreadsheet with a roadmap and music nft hidden in it"*), a *Body Parts* auction (5/02), *"The Upload"* live desktop stream (5/16–18), the *Genesis of SARAVI* (6/11), and the **Hall of Mirrors homepage takeover** (11/11) — the moment the maze stopped being a side-page and became the front door. - **Roy's 2022 tweets** — the seeded clues themselves. The artifacts are fragments and distorted reflections of the maker's psyche; the journey is self-recognition *amid the warping*. That's precisely why it's a maze you walk rather than a mirror you glance into — and Roy's launch-week warning, *"things tend to flip when inside the Hall of Mirrors,"* is the reversal mechanic stated outright (some codes are answers spelled backwards: RORRIM = mirror, reversed). "Decoder culture" isn't a separate doctrine; it's HoM-participation seen through those existing splits. A clean tweet reading "My favorite color is information" does not hash to its own room. So deeper OCR of the art won't crack those rooms; the frontier is partly forensic (largely mined) and partly a seeded-clue gap. The maze rewards reading each piece as *part of a language already in use*, which is also why much of it draws on older cultural currents rather than a bespoke invented code (see [[Concepts/Inherited Substrate]]). > [!note]- Advanced reading — the emergent map (there is no authored path) > A common misread is to expect a spatial path with the rooms arranged to mean something. There isn't one. The map is **emergent and collaboratively built**: any valid answer key can be entered at any open field, and entering it *manifests* that artifact at that spot — and the position then locks permanently. Roy's framing: *"the fans are creating a new world or creating a map within Saravi's Hall of Mirrors… there's really infinite pathways."* The practical consequence for a solver: room-*position* carries no clue information — the topology only records *who* solved *what*, *when*. These aren't a random code-set — they're the **anatomy of the uploaded self, minted piece by piece**, grounded in the upload manifesto's own instruction to *"mint body parts to immortalize little luna and I."* (Each of those animals is one station of the Tree of Life; the whole ladder is laid out in [[Hall of Mirrors/The Bestiary|The Bestiary]].) The self is reassembled limb by limb, and the answer-keys themselves form chains: a SARAVI loop where **RA-LINK → SA-LINK → VI-LINK** assembles *SA-RA-VI* out of its own links — a name that builds itself from the codes that point to it. > [!note]- Advanced reading — "The Upload" recipe, and the senses as fractions > The cosmology the rest of the maze only gestures at gets a concrete decode in the **[[Artifacts - Gallery 3 (75-112)#88 · Complete Upload Recipe|Complete Upload Recipe]]** artifact. It assigns the descending fractions to smell, sight, thought, hearing, taste, and **touch**, then continues through cells, electromagnetism, emotions, ego, awareness, language, sacrifice, love, will, fear, confidence, and compassion. The six fractions total 63/64, but the page does not name the remainder or say that magic, breath, a soul, or Thoth supplies it. The durable question is stranger and less convenient: can an inventory of parts preserve the living relation that makes them a self? > [!note]- Advanced reading — the immortality fork ("How to Live Forever?") > The "How to Live Forever?" page is where the project's whole notion of immortality forks. Its implied answer is that *forever* means **entering the Pattern** (recursion, the living form) — **not** never-dying. Which splits two versions of the upload, held against each other across the work: a **true** immortality (the self enters a living pattern and is *transformed*) versus a **false** one (the self made into reproducible content — the upload as a data-copy, the influencer-clone, the algorithm's product). The maze stages both at once: a genuine memory palace *and* a satire of immortality-by-content. That identifies the words' source; Roy's selection, cropping, title, and route to the passage remain separate questions. William G. Gray's chapter title “Coding Consciousness” in *Qabalistic Concepts: Living the Tree* is the strongest lead for the note's heading, but no receipt yet proves that was Roy's route. > > As a guide reading, the note imagines **culture as software**: patterns entering a collective or ancestral mind. It can illuminate [[The Circle]] when a culture carries truth, and the Loop when the same machinery carries a lie. That resonance belongs to Roy's placement of inherited language inside this system; it should not be mistaken for his authorship of Knight's sentence or proof that either author meant the Hall's Circle/Loop distinction. > [!note]- Advanced reading — Sir Rabbit, the proto-origin myth (Room 51) > The richest single artifact for the wider mythology is the **Sir Rabbit poem** in Room 51 (unlock code Q763) — which we read as pre-Lucius, borrowing Roy's 2023 phrase *"sir rabbit pre-lucius"* (said of a fan's mural photo, not of this poem). It's a full four-page initiation poem with the whole later cast already in seed: the Cat, a Violet-Moon machine, Mr Fox, a lamp-bearing Dove, a golden-caped Spider, and "[[Concepts/The Divide|The Divide]]." Its keys point straight at the heart-over-mind doctrine — *"use your other mind," "the key is hidden in yourself / just listen for the knock," "it's been mapped"* — and it runs the Mourning/Morning-Sun pun that ties the Morning Star (Lucifer) to [[Sir Lucius]]. Far richer than the "rejected album art / golden egg" tour it's sometimes flattened to. The companion *"Walking the Edge of a Knife"* poem unlocks with the code **INSIDE OF THE INSIDE** — [[The Circle]]'s own phrase, which the poem then echoes (*"turn back the stone / from the inside"*): the answer-key is hidden *inside the artifact it unlocks*. > [!note]- Advanced reading — the lineage runs back to 2020 > The maze didn't begin in 2022. That site ran a triple-pun on *"ARE YOU CONTENT?"* (content = satisfied vs content = media) over a call-now gag phone number, **(313)-251-4932** — and years later that exact number turned out to *be* a maze room code, digits-only. Its mascot is an upside-down smiley 🙃: the grin already masking its opposite, the whole later mirror-doctrine pre-loaded into an emoji. The honest frame: Roy is **assembling and participating in older traditions**, not inventing a bespoke cipher from scratch. The decoder *toolkit* he literally left in the site's "Trash" — a Kybalion, gematrix.org, a Caesar-cipher tool, a Julian-date converter — confirms the numeric codes are gematria-, Caesar-, and date-encoded. Treat the correspondences as a system the maze *permits*, not metaphysics it asserts.
