Toward the end the voice begins to echo and distort, and in the last moment there is what reads to the ear as a low roll of thunder, or feedback, the birthday song dissolving back into the dark it rose out of. The title does the heavy lifting: *Logos* is the creative Word, John's *"in the beginning was the Word,"* and Roy glosses it by hand on the board as *"Logos (Ratio),"* word-as-reason. The code 167 looks like just a number, though it carries one small echo worth keeping: Roy's first band, Dead Letter Diaries, has a published track titled *"167 Octa,"* so the family number may double as a shard of the teenage catalogue, held as a question rather than a verdict. And the cow is not done: the same scanned model turns up again deeper in the maze as #58, *A Storm in the Child's Fountain*, retitled there with an Eye Alaska song title, one family prop carrying two eras of his music. Florence is a documented station of Roy's "wilderness years," so this is personal footage from the lost stretch before Jagwar Twin surfaced. The title cuts against the festive image: a man mugging for the camera under a cathedral while declaring his own absence — biographically, the years he was off the public map; in Hall of Mirrors terms, the maze's recurring play with presence, absence, and the unwitnessed self. The closing shot, his back receding into the piazza, literally performs the title. And the beads are not set at random: counted by abacus convention (an upper bead is five, each lower bead one), the four columns spell **9 · 3 · 6 · 0**, the artifact displaying its own unlock code on its face, with the final zero drawn the only way an abacus can draw it, as an empty column. The number itself is built, not picked: 9360 = 26 × 360, and both factors are authored elsewhere in the work. 26 is the alphabet, and the YHWH-gematria Roy works out on the KHAWAH page (room 30, whose code is 26); 360 is the full circle; and the ARG's earlier desktop keeps a Trash file literally named *9360*, illustrated with a bust of Julius Caesar, that opens a Caesar-shift cipher tool. Roman abacus, Roman Caesar: 9360 divides cleanly by both 26 and 360, so in either system the complete operation returns to its starting position, the whole alphabet turned through the whole circle and back where it began. The mesh is riddled with holes, a body that didn't finish rendering, and through the gaps you can read his documented **I'M NOT HERE** forearm tattoo, which Roy has glossed *"but I'm also here."* A here/not-here paradox delivered by a literally half-present body: the glitches aren't a flaw, they're the thesis. The code, *"World gone mad,"* is a verbatim line from the song (*"Flip the switch, flip the stove / World gone mad, let's start the show"*), the exact moment the toxic-positivity performance kicks off: the world's madness is the cue to put the smile on. This is a relic of Roy's very first band, Dead Letter Diaries, from his high-school years (roughly the mid-2000s, before Eye Alaska), and the code is just the artifact's own name, the object introducing itself. The fine print rewards patience: the track titles on the insert (*"Cold Steps in the Even Fall," "Through the Eyes of Ruin," "Wars and Rumors Of," "The Age of Ignorance," "Last Words of a Killer"* among them) match the band's published releases, and the disc reads as a compilation drawing on *Since the Realist* (2005) and the *Through the Eyes of Ruin* EP (2004). One title already sounds like the maze: *Wars and Rumors Of* cuts Matthew 24:6 short on purpose, a teenager already ending the line before the expected word. And the teenage catalogues turn out to be one of the Hall's real key-veins: another room's key is an Eye Alaska track title (#58), another's is the mirrored alias buried in the Eye Alaska tracklist (#17), and a third opens on the name of his 2011 solo EP (#60), so the boy on this insert is already supplying the adult maze its passwords. It sits in the gallery's ghost realm and earns the placement: a *"dead letter"* is mail that can never be delivered, so the band name can be read as framing a teenager's diaries as messages sent to no one, now preserved here as an undeliverable object. What is actually on the page: a rainbow arch with no color in it at all, concentric graphite bands only, with a small empty doorway at its base; two open-topped pillars lettered **J** (left, dark-hatched) and **B** (right, light), the Jachin and Boaz of Solomon's Temple; **three serpents soaring in the air above the arch**; the caption *"The Empty Room"*; and below it a **two-faced, monkey-like creature**, its head split by a zigzag, the two faces turned opposite ways with arrows pulling in both directions, one body trying to move both ways at once. Those figures are not generic esoterica. In the whole maze, monkey, serpent, and flight come together in exactly one other room: [[Artifacts - Gallery 4 (113-149)#125 · THE SERPENT MUST TAKE FLIGHT|room 125]], titled *"THE SERPENT MUST TAKE FLIGHT"* and unlocked by *"THE MONKEY MUST BECOME THE BIRD."* This drawing reads as that formula's picture: the divided monkey below is the one that must become the bird, and the serpents overhead have already taken flight. In the Theosophical stream Roy's board draws on, the *"rainbow bridge"* (antahkarana) is the span a person builds across their own divided nature, which compresses the whole sketch into one statement: **the divided monkey must cross the empty bridge to take flight.** The emptiness is the other half of the design. The composition closely matches the Fourth Apocalyptic Seal Rudolf Steiner published, a rainbow spanning two pillars lettered J and B in Steiner's rare J-left/B-right order (the reverse of the Masonic tracing-board and the Tarot High Priestess), with the seal's entire subject stripped out: the radiant figure, the open book, the cloud, the sea and land, and the color itself. Gray's *The Ladder of Lights* supplies the vocabulary of Tree-thinking and its upper and lower thresholds. What's slyest here is the title: the room isn't named for anyone in it, but for its own address. **B1034** and its key **B1035** are neighboring cells on the *"I'm 33"* spreadsheet, so this is a pure index-node, an artifact whose entire identity is its filing address. The catalog isn't storing the cipher.
