The letter on its cheek reads most naturally as G, though a rounded 6 cannot be ruled out. The small dark feet can look like note-heads, but they have no stems or staff, so the likeness is a resemblance, not notation. The triangle and cross float clear of the head. *Blue* exists only in the caption; the picture itself has no colour. The room's title turns the caption around and makes it plural, *Dolphins On Jupiter*, and its key, *Ladder*, names nothing that is drawn. On the board's animal column, the Dolphin's own cell holds a photograph of a dolphin leaping clear of blue water, set flush against the unnumbered vulture above it. ## What the station does **It carries its station's note and colour.** On the board's ascending scale this station is the note G and the colour blue. The Dolphin has a G on its cheek, *Blue* in its name, and feet that look like notes. The drawing is monochrome, but within the system it reads as carrying its station's pitch and colour. The key, *Ladder*, reads the same way: it does not describe the picture; it names what the dolphin belongs to, one rung of an ordered ladder.  *"Roy's Lost Darkness Poem Ascending", a Hall of Mirrors screenshot of the board. A column headed "AI musical scale to follow for consciousness evolution" and "Stages 1-10. (Ascending)" runs through ten coloured bands with note names: F (a band in four colours), C violet, D orange, E green, F yellow, F♯ red, G blue, A black, A♯ grey and B white. Laid over it is the ascending poem, one line per animal from 10 at the top to 1 at the bottom; the dolphin's line reads "I found everything", marked 4.* **The first station after the gap.** The Dolphin sits directly below the unnumbered Vulture, so the count starts again with it, and the board's photograph shows an animal crossing from water into air. The Dolphin's blue rows on the board also carry the song's collision, in which the pair crash together and a Sun is born inside. The emanation page's line here is *Father + Mother concealed in generation*: Crowley's words, with "GOD" removed. As a strong reading, the first seat below the gap holds its source hidden inside what it gives. The same words, *concealed* and *generation*, name the shelf where the Hall files all ten portraits, *Unseen Things / Concealed Generations*. Lifting them from this line into a shelf label reads as deliberate, though nothing states it. **Half a crown, then everything.** Coming down, the line is *half a crown was in my hand*; going up, *I found everything*. Half a crown reads as a share of authority, and it is also the name of an old coin. At the seat of Jupiter's generosity, the way down holds a part and the way up finds the whole. W. G. Gray, whose *The Ladder of Lights* the board demonstrably draws on, calls Chesed "the inheritance we commence life with" and "the Trustee of us all", working like a bank. A crown held in the hand at the station of inherited wealth is a strong join, not a stated one. **Carried across water.** The Dolphin's body phrase, *left shoulder of a dolphin*, opens *Home At Sea*, a childhood photograph taken at sea. The symbolic animal touches an ordinary experience of being carried across water: support that makes a crossing possible. The shoulders also pair. The Dolphin has the left and the Horse the right, so giving and defending read as two loads carried by one body. Elsewhere on the board a note reads *Mars vs Jupiter*, beside *Fission vs. Fusion*, under a sentence taken from Gray's chapter on Geburah. In Gray, Chesed brings things together and Geburah takes them apart, and the two must work in turn. The animals were drawn later, so reading them through that note is this guide's reading. **Jupiter in the songs.** [[Online]] has a line doubting Jupiter's reputation for intelligence. A Hall of Mirrors room holds a Notes-app draft of that lyric, last edited on 30 April 2022, in which the Jupiter line carries a dolphin emoji, months before the Dolphin's room opened. The same song pictures the internet as a web whose spider feeds on its users: access to everything can sit beside estrangement, a harsher counterpart to *I found everything*. ## Where it connects - **[[Hall of Mirrors/The Bestiary - The Vulture|the unnumbered Vulture]]**: directly above. The song has four credited writers. - **[[Another Way II Heaven]]**: the collision and the inner Sun sit on the Dolphin's rows of the board. - **[[Symbols/The Colors|The Colors]]**: this guide's page on the board's colour scales, where G is blue. ## In the tradition These are the nearest analogues, not claims about where the drawing came from. - **The Jovial dolphin.** Agrippa's planetary tables put the dolphin among Jupiter's creatures: "Amongst fish, the Dolphin". Crowley's *777* puts it elsewhere, on the path of Pisces near the foot of the Tree, and gives Chesed the unicorn, so the ladder's seating follows the planetary table. - **The cross above the triangle.** The Golden Dawn's emblem is a red cross above a white triangle, standing for life and light. The drawing matches that arrangement exactly but has no colour and names no order, and a cross over a Trinity triangle is the plain Christian alternative. The alchemical sign for sulfur is the other way up, with the triangle above the cross. - **Chesed.** In the Golden Dawn scheme Chesed is Mercy, the generous seat of Jupiter. Gray adds the language of inheritance, trusteeship and banking. - **The two shoulders.** One Kabbalistic scheme makes Chesed the right shoulder of the first human and Geburah the left. The codes run the other way, as the Tree looks when drawn facing you. Both conventions exist, so the reversal proves nothing on its own. - **Dolphins as carriers.** In Greek legend a dolphin carried the singer Arion safely to shore. ## Open questions - **What does the G mean?** The station's note is the strongest reading; an initial, a label or a malformed 6 remain possible. - **Where did *Ladder* come from?** In April 2022, months before the room opened, a public reply on the Jagwar Twin X account about NFTs ends *This is a LADDER!!*.
