The crow is Mercury's bird, so the crow is Lucius's bird. And there's a scavenger's edge to it the softer symbols don't have: the crow is a carrion bird, feeding on what's already dead — which rhymes with the *sterile,* second-hand quality the project keeps assigning the shadow (the seedless [[The Banana|banana]], the copy that can't beget, the algorithm reheating what already worked). ## Where it appears **Roy's "crow onto Mercury" post.** The anchor. Roy has written, in his own voice, *"I'd map a crow onto Mercury"* — his personal correspondence between the bird and the planet of intellect.
