# Where Am I? A one-minute orientation. ## It's a web, not a book There's no required order. Every page links to the characters, ideas, symbols, and songs it touches. You can start anywhere and follow the links that pull at you. If you'd rather have a route, the **[[Reading Paths]]** lay out guided threads. Each page opens with a **one-line reading** in a quote block — the single most useful sentence about that thing. If you only read those, you'll still come away with the shape of the world. ## The confidence labels Pages mix what the work *says* with what it might *mean*. The wording tells you which is which: - **Plain statement** ("Roy has said…", "the video shows…") = grounded fact. **Let me remind you though...the thing about facts is they can be relative, partial, or misleading.** - **"Reads as / suggests / can be understood as"** = a strong interpretation, not a confirmed one. There is likely truth here but we can not prove the claim. - **"One reading is…" / "speculatively…"** = an offered possibility. A.K.A I thought it once and thought that that might make it true, so I shared it with you. Full detail in the **[[Source and Interpretation Policy]]**. ## What this is — and isn't It **is** an independent, interpretive field guide: a readable map of a rich body of work, made by a listener who's stared at it for a long time, took notes, and had robots turn those notes into a knowledge blob. It **isn't** official, and hasn't "solved" anything. There are a lot of words here interpreting subject matter that is personal and lands differently with each witness, because we all experience music differently and many of these melodies will seem eerily familiar while also being strange and new. This is a guide, its growing and changing daily. It does not hold any answers...at least until you arrived. The artist is still creating this work and warns often that "Nothing's what it seems". Every page is a current best understanding, not the final word, and the work is more than any reading of it.
