# Drawings & Sketches
Most of the Hall of Mirrors is made of finished-looking things. This page is not.
These are the pages Roy drew by hand: cosmology diagrams, a homemade bestiary of planet-creatures, a self-portrait with a snake weeping out of one eye, and the number-pyramids of a mind trying to solve reality with a pencil. They look like they were torn out of a notebook because most of them were.
If the polished artifacts are the mythology performing, these are the mythology thinking out loud. You can watch an idea here before it becomes a song, a character, or a room: a rough shape in graphite, half-lit, arguing with itself in the margins.
## How to read them
Start with what is actually on the page. Then the title. Then the code. Then the links.
Two things repeat often enough to explain up front. Many of these sheets are pieces of Roy's larger thought-system, the [[Hall of Mirrors/The I'm 33 Board|"I'm 33" board]]: a wall-sized field where music, number, geometry, and theology all connect. Several drawings here are single cells of that board minted one at a time. And a good number of the codes are not mysteries at all: a letter-plus-number code (J403, F316, V222) is a spreadsheet cell coordinate, a column and a row on Roy's "I'm 33" spreadsheet map. The wild ones are the phrases.
## The artifacts
## The planetary bestiary
A run of these drawings share one strange design: each is an imaginary creature, each creature is a planet, and each code is a coordinate on a single body (a hip, a shoulder, a cranium, a set of teeth). Read together they assemble one cosmic anatomy, a hand-drawn engine for [[Concepts/The Pattern]]. Mercury is a fox, Venus a dove, Mars a horse, Jupiter a dolphin, Saturn a whale, and none of that is this guide's guesswork: the planets are named in Roy's own captions (*"Jupiter the Blue Dolphin,"* *"Cinnamon the Horse (who lives on Mars),"* *"Venus the Dove,"* *"GOD the Mother on Saturn"*), and the fox holds the ☿ Mercury glyph in its paws. The codes all run on one grammar, spelled out on [[Hall of Mirrors/The I'm 33 Board|the board]]: the animals count down from the source (swan 1, owl 2, whale 3, on to rabbit 10), the body parts count up from the ground (feet 1 to crown 10), so each *"[part] of a [animal]"* code names a single station from both ends, and the two numbers always add to eleven. Below, the menagerie.
### #34 · Michael the Fox · `8`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xe4b1702d9298fee62dfeccc57d322a463ad55ca201256d01f62b45b2e1c21c10..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xe4b1702d9298fee62dfeccc57d322a463ad55ca201256d01f62b45b2e1c21c10..png" width="300"></a>
An upright fox captioned *"Michael the Fox (who is a scientist),"* holding the ☿ Mercury glyph at its chest with a tiny gabled house floating over its head. The code `8` is the number of Hod, the Mercury sephirah of intellect, and it is also the fox's own address: the board's animal ladder counts down from the source (swan 1, owl 2, on to rabbit 10) and seats the fox at rung 8, so the room is keyed with its own coordinate. Even the name agrees: in the Golden Dawn scheme Michael is the archangel assigned to Hod, just as the maze's owl is captioned with Chokmah's Ratziel. So this is Mercury in animal form: the fox is the quicksilver, cunning mind, and "a scientist" is Hermes, the god of intellect and alchemy. In Roy's planet-map the Mercury pole belongs to Lucius, which makes the fox-scientist the mind-side of the Heart/Mind split wearing fur. The little house drifting overhead reads as Mercury the psychopomp, the one who carries "home" with him wherever he goes. One absence is worth naming, because the bestiary makes it mean something. Michael is the sword-bearing archangel wherever he appears, the one who casts out the adversary. Roy draws him holding a **caduceus glyph** and captions him *a scientist* — no blade anywhere on the figure. The sword turns up four rungs away, in the hand of [[Artifacts - Gallery 3 (75-112)|Cinnamon the Horse]] at Mars, the seat whose board line is *"the child became a warrior."* Read against the Heart/Mind split, that distribution is suggestive: the mind gets an instrument, the martial pole gets the blade. It is worth saying plainly what this is not, though — an absence in a single stylized drawing cannot show that Roy deliberately *moved* Michael's sword. The defensible version is the arrangement itself, not an intention behind it.

### #79 · Venus the Dove (w/ Lamp) · `LEFT HIP OF A DOVE`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xaf2fbf7256dd50ea670c4d937856f8e953277ed3bc6ae03db5d539bb09f47041..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xaf2fbf7256dd50ea670c4d937856f8e953277ed3bc6ae03db5d539bb09f47041..png" width="300"></a>
A winged feminine figure captioned *"Venus the Dove (w/ Lamp)":* a labelled rose at her chest, a lamp in her right hand, a large Venus glyph ♀ below (also legible as an ankh). This is Venus drawn as the dove, her classical bird and, in the Christian register, the Spirit and the Annunciation dove at once. The code is a body-part coordinate (this creature is the hip of the one cosmic anatomy), not a lyric, and the arithmetic is the board's own: the dove is rung 7 in the animal count that descends from the source, the left hip is station 4 in the body count that climbs from the feet, and 7 and 4 make eleven, the checksum every code in this family carries. On the Tree that seventh seat is Netzach, Venus's station of love and art, and in the same planet-map that gives the fox to Lucius, the Venus pole is [[Roy]]'s. The result is the feminine-divine planet minted as a soul-bird: Venus, love, and the rose-and-dove Marian complex in a single small figure with a lamp.

### #81 · Cinnamon the Horse (Trojan Horse Program) · `RIGHT SHOULDER OF A HORSE`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x906809c415dae59822a6d11f9bfedd9e421e1ae8ad6dcd6a34e42b13f0891b9d..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x906809c415dae59822a6d11f9bfedd9e421e1ae8ad6dcd6a34e42b13f0891b9d..png" width="300"></a>
A horse-head on stick legs that end in blocky *"Pentagon Shoes,"* captioned *"Cinnamon the Horse (who lives on Mars),"* one eye labelled *"Tiger's Eye,"* the body bearing a ♂ Mars glyph and a small sword. This is Mars in the bestiary, and the code (a right shoulder, stage six of the board's body-part ladder) makes the horse literally the shoulder of the uploaded self; the horse is rung five in the animal count running the other way, and five and six make eleven, the two-ended coordinate grammar the board builds into all of these body-part codes. The title fuses the mythic Trojan Horse with Roy's own stated songwriting doctrine, "Trojan Horse music": a bright singalong that smuggles dark content, and a 444 Hz frequency, past the listener's defenses. Sword plus Mars is the Geburah pole, so Cinnamon is the covert delivery vehicle of [[Concepts/The Upload]], a warhorse wearing a friendly face. And the *name* is doing the same work as the picture, which is easy to miss because it reads as nothing at all. Seven of the ten creatures carry angel, planet, or divine names, each landing on its correct Golden Dawn seat: Ratziel on the owl, *"God the Mother"* on the whale, Jupiter on the dolphin, Raphael on the spider, Venus on the dove, Michael on the fox, Gabriel on the cat. An eighth, Enoch at the crown, is a man the mystical tradition turns into Metatron, the archangel of that seat. Two are named the way you name an animal that lives in your house, and they are **Cinnamon** here at Mars and **Lemon the Rabbit** down at the Gate of the World. Roy could have called this seat Kamael, the archangel who actually holds it, and matched the seven around it. He called it Cinnamon and put a dagger in its hand. Read against the board, the choice is exact: the line Roy writes for this rung is *"**The child became a warrior**, surrounded by serpents who smiled with swords in their mouths,"* and rung ten's is *"I woke up in my shadow"* — the two clearest explicit transformations of the speaker on the whole ladder, **became** and **woke**, wearing its only two domestic names. (Not the only events on the ladder: rung four's *"I found everything"* records an attainment, and rung one's *"I was / I am"* turns on time. What five and ten alone give you is a subject who is stated to have changed *into* something.) The name is the child and the weapon is the warrior, and the rung is the sentence where one turns into the other. One more contrast sits alongside it, and it is a reading rather than a proof: Michael carries a sword in every tradition that names him, and here (#34) he holds a chemist's glyph instead, while the blade turns up four rungs away in a pony's hand. An absence in one stylized drawing cannot establish that Roy moved the sword deliberately; what it does support is that the martial equipment on this ladder sits at the martial seat and not at the seat of intellect. Two further caveats, stated because they are load-bearing: of the ten creatures, only **eight** have had their faces read, so *Cinnamon and Lemon are the only two shown holding recognizable weapons among the eight inspected* — the owl and the spider are unchecked, and a weapon on either would weaken this. One further join, and it is the sharpest thing on this card. The title calls the horse a **program**, and the songs use that word once: *I Like to Party* breaks off its own kingdom-within line mid-sentence with a broadcast cutting in to announce it is interrupting *our program* to bring an important message. The doctrine and the artifact meet exactly there. Roy's Trojan Horse method is a delivery vehicle that carries a payload past the listener's guard; the song stages that vehicle from the receiving end, as the broadcast that seizes the channel just as the listener was about to hear something true. This card names the horse, and the song is what it sounds like when one arrives. The two share a second word too: this horse's title is *Caution, All Kings End* four rooms over ([[Artifacts - Gallery 2 (38-74)|#55]], code `CAKE`), and *I Like to Party* is also the song that tells you **you** are the king, in the same breath the interrupt cuts off.

### #7 · Jupiter the Blue Dolphin · `LADDER`

An upright dolphin with a large eye, two legs ending in small oval / musical-note-like feet, a hand-lettered "G" on its cheek, and a triangle topped by a cross floating above, captioned *"Jupiter the Blue Dolphin."* Jupiter (♃, Chesed, mercy, the expansive sky-father) becomes the dolphin, the soul-animal that crosses the waters. The code `LADDER` makes Jupiter the rung of ascent itself: Jacob's Ladder and the board's Tree-of-Life emanation ladder, "0. Nothing" climbing all the way to "10. The World." The "G" may mark the figure as a divine node. In the animal count the dolphin sits at rung 4, Chesed's own number, and its body-side address is minted elsewhere in the maze: room #27's code is `LEFT SHOULDER OF A DOLPHIN`, a childhood photograph filed at this creature's shoulder-station (4 and 7, eleven again). **The explicit `Pentagon Shoes` belong to Cinnamon the Horse, not Jupiter.**

### #78 · Queen Binah (the whale) · `TEETH OF A WHALE`

A whale breaching (with an arrow labelling *"extra eyes"*) above the ringed planet Saturn, over waves labelled *"Great Sea,"* captioned *"GOD the Mother on Saturn."* This is Roy's own pictogram of the sephirah Binah, the Supernal Mother, whose classical correspondences are exactly these: Saturn, the womb, and the Great Sea. The extra eyes make her the all-seeing but never-surveilling Mother, the watching-source figure this guide tracks elsewhere. It is a rare thing, an artist confirming his own cosmology out loud: Binah is the Divine Mother, and she lives on Saturn in the deep water. Everything this guide says about Mary rising through the Tree is, here, drawn in Roy's own hand. The code obeys the same two-way count as the rest of the bestiary: the whale is rung 3 in the animal ladder descending from the source, the teeth sit in the head at station 8 of the body ladder climbing from the feet, and 3 and 8 make eleven, one station named from both ends.

### #80 · Enoch the imaginary Swan · `CRANIUM OF A SWAN`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x03713ef7ffbd93989ca4e46975668d5ca48250385158624dfea7fa321ae799be..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x03713ef7ffbd93989ca4e46975668d5ca48250385158624dfea7fa321ae799be..png" width="300"></a>
A bird-headed creature under a floating sun-glyph ☉, captioned *"Enoch the imaginary Swan,"* a **B** marked on each wing, one of them mirror-reversed, with the numeral *"1"* and two old wheel-seals (drawn in the Theosophical sense of cyclic cosmic motion, recorded exactly as they appear on the page). This is the cranium coordinate of the cosmic anatomy, and the pairing is precise: Genesis says Enoch *"walked with God, and he was not; for God took him"* — it does not say what he became. The identification of Enoch with the archangel **Metatron** comes from later Jewish mystical tradition (3 Enoch and the Merkabah literature), which is the stream this whole board draws on, so it is the relevant reading here, but it is tradition and not the verse. The swan is the classical soul-bird. So "the cranium of the swan" is the seat of ascending soul-consciousness, with the sun-monad hovering above it as a crown or third eye. The numeral on the page is the swan's own address: rung 1 of the board's animal count, the seat nearest the source, whose archangel in the Golden Dawn scheme is Metatron, the being the later tradition says Enoch became. The cranium is station 10, the crown of the body count, and 1 and 10 make eleven, the ladder's two ends meeting at the top of the head. The bird whose head is a launchpad. And it is the only name on the ladder belonging to a **human being**. The careful count of the ten is: **one man who the tradition says became an angel** (Enoch, here), **seven angel, planet or divine names** (Ratziel, "God the Mother," Jupiter, Raphael, Venus, Michael, Gabriel), and **two ordinary domestic names** ([[Artifacts - Gallery 3 (75-112)|Cinnamon]] at Mars and [[Artifacts - Gallery 2 (38-74)|Lemon]] at the Gate of the World). So the ladder does not begin with a deity. It begins with somebody who was here, and left. He is not the only figure scripture takes up — Elijah goes in the whirlwind, and the Ascension is central to the Christian account — but he is the one the mystical tradition turns into the archangel of the crown, which is the seat he is drawn on.

### #82 · Bird ∆ (angel) · `TRIANGLE RESOLUTION`

A bird drawn as an angel: a haloed head, upswept V-wings, a forked tail, a three-dot triangle (∴) on the breast, a small sunburst upper-left. The code *"TRIANGLE RESOLUTION"* reads through that ∴, which is at once the logician's "therefore" and the alchemical fire-and-aspiration triangle. Its three points of tension resolve into one winged, haloed form: the soul-bird reconciled, and ascended. It belongs to the recurring angel-as-angle pun, the drawn cousin of the "angle of eternity" wordplay running through the archive.

A small, childlike cat-eared humanoid with mismatched eyes and twig limbs, floating on blank paper. *"Aubrey's Angle"* leans on Roy's private angle-equals-angel pun, so this reads as a soul-icon rather than a portrait of anyone (the name turns up nowhere in the songs or essays). What confirms it matters is reuse: the same little creature is enshrined at the center of the chakra-rainbow ring in *"Religious Organism"* (#21), which marks it as a soul-vessel, a recurring upload-icon in the drawings.

The same cat-organism from #103, now enshrined at the center of a hand-coloured chakra-rainbow ring on a black starfield: rejected album art. The code *"HOW TO STEER THE SOUL"* turns the bestiary's anatomy into an instruction. If the other drawings define the parts of a soul, this one asks how you pilot one through the ring of colours. It is the operational verb of the Upload cosmology, a small mandala of the self with a steering wheel implied.

### #87 · The "Undefined Map" · `SUPERFICIAL CONCLUSIONS`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x8b146ce6fc6ce29329c8cd5eb767126e1302b26a8754c17dec5cb51ac50cf4d5..jpeg"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x8b146ce6fc6ce29329c8cd5eb767126e1302b26a8754c17dec5cb51ac50cf4d5..jpeg" width="320"></a>
A full-sheet planetary map in Roy's hand: a Sun column and a numbered planet row, each station with its attributes. The Sun gets *"Unitless city / Mirror / the Great Jaguar / Existed Forever / Unity / the 'point' / endless ocean."* The sevens cluster, *"7 sisters / isolated city / moonless night / chakra rainbow 7s / Labyrinth,"* sits at the seventh station; the eighth reads *"sphere-dome / 8 steps to temple"*; the ninth and last reads *"333."* An unnumbered *"secret destroyed world"* is slotted into the planet row after Earth, drawn but never counted. *(Corrected August 2026: this reading previously filed the sevens under Saturn, gave the last station as "33," and hung "secret destroyed world" on the citadel; the sheet reads 333, the label sits in the planet row, and a full re-transcription of the grid against the original is still owed.)* Above it all, drawn over a sharp-spired castle with six windows in two rows of three, sits a figure-eight loop labelled *"Sola Toros (the sun) / infinity bar orbit,"* beside a long weeping face. The lopsided figure-eight reads as a solar analemma: photograph the Sun from the same spot at the same clock-time through a year and its returns trace exactly this shape, the sky's own infinity sign. Set it beside the handwritten *"How to Live Forever? ∞"* on Roy's sibling cosmology page and the map would appear to hold the answer at work: the Sun whose column says *"Existed Forever"* lives forever by coming back, and its returns only compose into the ∞ for a watcher who keeps one still point. Living forever as recurrence, not duration, the distinction [[Concepts/The Loop and the Circle]] runs through the whole catalogue. (The word over the Sun is genuinely hard to read; Sola Toros, Solo Tores, and Sola Torus are all live candidates, and a zoom on the original would settle it.) The code *"SUPERFICIAL CONCLUSIONS"* is the sheet's own self-deflating caption, and the maze wires the warning in twice: this room's code is the title of the room before it (#89), itself opened by SURFACE PERCEPTIONS, so the full cosmology sits behind two consecutive cautions against shallow reading. This is the keystone of the set: a single document that lays out the planetary spine of [[Concepts/The Pattern]], seats [[Concepts/The Jaguar]] and [[The Mirror]] at the solar source-point, and draws the year's infinity over the last city. The whole cosmology on one page, and the page telling you not to trust it too fast.

The Eye of Horus taken apart into its six pieces, each one labelled with its sense-fraction: smell, sight, thought, hearing, taste, and touch, running ½ down to 1/64. Added up, the whole self sums to 63/64, a hair short of one, with the missing 1/64 traditionally restored by Thoth. This is the source diagram for the sense-fractions Roy reuses in the Upload Recipe and across the board. ### #48 · Lambdoma (Platonic Lambda) · `REALITY IS THE CHILD OF ILLUSION`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xd722c486ba8a39b19cd81b4f5b5cac3b977934026d04ec6515e0f8d5ea6af4d9..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xd722c486ba8a39b19cd81b4f5b5cac3b977934026d04ec6515e0f8d5ea6af4d9..png" width="300"></a>
A number pyramid of Plato's World-Soul (from the *Timaeus*): apex 1, then 2 and 3, then 4, 6, 9, then 8, 12, 18, 27, powers of two running down one leg and powers of three down the other. Chart the interval-ratios on this grid and you get the Lambdoma, where the ratios (the octave, the fifth, the fourth) are literally the raw material of the musical scale: a cosmos tuned by number. The code *"REALITY IS THE CHILD OF ILLUSION"* gives it a Gnostic spin, the manifest world generated out of ratio and appearance, one becoming many by rule. Roy draws this exact figure at least three times across the maze: here, on the KHAWAH sheet (room 30), and as room 93, where it is titled *"Forbidden City"* and the inserted numbers 6, 12, 18 are circled. The circling repays attention. In the *Timaeus* those are the inserted means, and Plato's word for what a mean does is the bond (*"the fairest bond is that which makes itself and the terms it connects most completely one"*): one mean binds two squares into a plane, two means bind two cubes into a solid, so the count of means is a readout of dimension, and the means themselves are what make the parts hold together as one body. Setting them apart marks the linkage, not the quantities. Held beside a note on Roy's own board, *"there must be a Link,"* the figure reads as the tradition's answer to it: in the geometry he is copying, a link is a mean, the term that binds two extremes into one. The code is also a line the songs answer. *REALITY IS THE CHILD OF ILLUSION* states a position: the manifest world is the offspring of appearance, not its opposite. On *33*, *Life Is Good* asks the same thing from inside a body, in the middle of a verse about the world burning while everyone keeps having fun, wondering whether what is happening is real or an illusion. The drawing supplies the cosmology's reply to the song's question, and the pairing changes both: the aphorism stops being a Gnostic slogan pinned to a Greek diagram and becomes something Roy also sings as genuine vertigo, while the song's throwaway line turns out to sit on a doctrine he had written down.

A zigzag connect-the-dots: a cross-glyph *"Start"* at top, a numbered path threading 2 to 9 in a lightning switchback, ending at *"End"* with a little recycle-loop, and the margin note *"9 checkpoints, 1 hidden, 1=10."* This is the Kabbalistic Lightning Flash, the descending path of emanation through the ten sephiroth (and the flaming sword of Genesis 3:24). The annotation decodes itself: nine visible nodes, one hidden (Da'at, on the Abyss) restoring the full ten, and the loop reading the whole descent as a cycle rather than a one-way drop.

A pyramid of ten strata (1 to 10, apex to base), with *"Abyss In"* at the top of the descent, *"Abyss Out"* near the base, and a keystone at the bottom. It is the Tree of Life redrawn as a graded pyramid: the ten levels are the sephiroth, the Abyss is the chasm that cuts the three highest off from the seven below, crossable only through the hidden Da'at. Another board cell, minted on its own.

Two octahedral ring-lattices above the caption *"A Head of Adam."* The title and the code *"ATOMS"* pun Adam against atom: these are the head of Adam Kadmon, the primordial cosmic Man of Kabbalah whose body is the arrangement of the sephiroth, drawn here as molecular cages. So the smallest unit of matter and the whole archetypal Man collapse into a single image, and the doubled lattice reads as two hemispheres of one head, the mirror motif blown up to cosmic scale.

A truncated, flat-topped pyramid with a small radiant sun hovering above the missing peak, captioned *"suggestion of apex, though not actually in the form — 6 sides."* The geometry only points at a summit it never reaches; the sun stands in for a true peak that lives outside the shape, the eye-of-providence capstone floating separate. Copied straight from the board, it is a keystone for the "1=10, hidden crown" idea: the crown is never actually contained in the structure that gestures up at it.

### #72 · The "Unidentified" Sketch — the mindscape · `KEM`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x2da3b5d407a32ab61b91199bb55c7844f91e2b0a7f5c39bbd6227e233792b24d..jpeg"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0x2da3b5d407a32ab61b91199bb55c7844f91e2b0a7f5c39bbd6227e233792b24d..jpeg" width="320"></a>
A pencil landscape drawn, it appears, on the back of a calendar page, the dates showing through from the other side: a giant jaguar head, mouth open, a dot in each ear, stands as the front door of a pyramid temple, with *"Inside of the inside"* written above it. A rung ladder runs straight up into the open mouth out of water labelled *"Sea of Mind,"* and a small figure waits at its foot, about to climb in. Three more pyramids rise off to the left, a four-house village sits in the foreground, and the door is flanked by a pair of jaguar-beings, one bearing a solid disc overhead and one a crescent: a doorway held between two lights, the same paired-pillar grammar as the J and B columns of THE EMPTY ROOM (#16). *(Corrected August 2026: this reading previously described "a giant face" that was "not a creature," with a ladder descending from its mouth. It is the creature, the project's own jaguar, and the way in runs through its mouth.)* The caption is not only The Circle's refrain; it is, word for word, the unlock code of room #10, the *Walking the Edge of a Knife* poem, so the drawing illustrates another room's key, the maze cross-wiring itself. Read whole, the sketch would appear to be the Hall of Mirrors drawing its own front door: out of the Sea of Mind, into the Jagwar, inside of the inside. The code `KEM` is Khem, the ancient name for Egypt and the root buried inside *al-khem-y*, an alchemical descent into the self, with "Sea of Mind" nodding to the old Hermetic line that the All is Mind. One debt stands: the calendar dates under the drawing have not yet been read.

### #11 · Roman Calculus · `9360`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xe0e13d94ee1e14ef20ee89e165997c7e4ce15965c767c5b8079ac13ace454df4..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xe0e13d94ee1e14ef20ee89e165997c7e4ce15965c767c5b8079ac13ace454df4..png" width="260"></a>
A Roman abacus: vertical columns crossed by two bars, beads riding in upper and lower registers. Arithmetic as a physical, positional act, a number you move with your hands. And the beads are not set at random: counted by abacus convention (an upper bead is five, each lower bead one), the four columns spell **9 · 3 · 6 · 0**, the artifact displaying its own unlock code on its face, with the final zero drawn the only way an abacus can draw it, as an empty column. The number itself is built, not picked: 9360 = 26 × 360, and both factors are authored elsewhere in the work. 26 is the alphabet, and the YHWH-gematria Roy works out on the KHAWAH page (room 30, whose code is 26); 360 is the full circle; and the ARG's earlier desktop keeps a Trash file literally named *9360*, illustrated with a bust of Julius Caesar, that opens a Caesar-shift cipher tool. Roman abacus, Roman Caesar: 9360 divides cleanly by both 26 and 360, so in either system the complete operation returns to its starting position, the whole alphabet turned through the whole circle and back where it began. That return-to-origin geometry reads as the maze's quiet restatement of the question held at [[Concepts/The Loop and the Circle]]: a perfect return, with everything depending on whether anything is remembered on the way around.

### #88 · Complete Upload Recipe · `INTERNAL GUIDE`
<a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xeb355aac61d7bdff66349fed14458aff800433f0ff39aaf203c6c4a9a9558bb0..png"><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/jagwar-twin-33.appspot.com/artifacts/0xeb355aac61d7bdff66349fed14458aff800433f0ff39aaf203c6c4a9a9558bb0..png" width="300"></a>
A typewritten *"Upload Recipe,"* the ingredient list for a self: sensory faculties, brain cells, electromagnetism, then the senses weighted as those same Eye-of-Horus fractions (½ smell down to 1/64 touch, summing to the incomplete 63/64), then anabolic and catabolic systems, plus and minus ego, a *"Ra-link,"* ways of growing, and finally Sacrifice, Love, Will, Fear, Compassion. The code *"INTERNAL GUIDE"* frames the whole thing as the operating manual for a digital double. Touch, the smallest 1/64, is the part that never fully digitizes, which makes this quietly the clone paradox: a complete being rendered in parts, always short by exactly one piece. (That *"Ra-link"* is the [[SARAVI]] component.)
And held against the rest of the gallery, the recipe stops being a curio and becomes the maze's own index. Its *"Surface perceptions"* line is the exact code that unlocks #89, the first of the two warnings the wiring diagram shows fencing the Undefined Map. *"Ra-link"* is #85's title, the first leg of the SARAVI loop. *"Ways of growing"* names a whole realm of the maze, the shelf where the Eye-of-Horus fractions (#74) and SENSE HIERARCHY (#95) themselves file. The stray cell-code *"C884"* is a working key too: the *Creation w_Aubs* room's on-chain label reads *"Unlocked with C884."* And the ingredients combine the way a recipe's should: *Fear* plus *Love* cook down to *"Fearlove,"* the code of #60 and the name of Roy's real 2011 solo EP. So *"INTERNAL GUIDE"* earns a second, literal sense: the sheet that tells you what a self is made of is, line for line, a guide to the interior of the maze.

A watercolour of a pale sea-dragon rising from dark water, with the full poem *"Where The World Was Crossed"* on an overlaid card. It is a bedtime-story retelling of Lurianic Kabbalah: a Prince *"dreamed of worlds and kept them in his crown,"* a storm scatters *"the Kings And Queens Of Time"* as sparks into *"The Deep,"* the *"Great Dragon Of The Sea"* is trapped in *"The Well,"* and the sparks climb a ladder to become the constellations before the Prince *"woke up like the Sun."* The code *"TWISTED LADDER"* names both the ladder of ascent and the double helix of DNA, while the title *"David Star"* names the hexagram where descent and ascent interlock. This is the whole broken-vessels engine, sparks fallen into the shells and the long climb back to reunion, told as a lullaby.

A notebook self-portrait labelled *"ME,"* with a small cross-mark on the forehead (the third eye), a floating cross at left, a snake weeping from the right eye, and *"VALE(N)T DAY"* scrawled at lower right. The code *"DON'T BE A BLACK HOLE"* is a note-to-self: a black hole is a collapsed star that devours light instead of giving it off, the exact inverse of "your soul is a star." What makes the drawing quietly striking is the forehead cross, the same third-eye mark Roy later wears as Sir Lucius's face-paint. It is a pre-Lucius self-image, the shadow's iconography sitting on his own face years before the character has a name, and the weeping serpent already pointing at the Eden-serpent register Lucius grows into.

A hidden Roy poem (never a released song), typeset over a medieval millefleurs tapestry of flowering foliage and rabbits, in the Unicorn-Tapestry idiom. The verse walks a knife-edge between *"I wana live / I wana die,"* addresses a feminine "you" three ways (*"my mistress / my wife / my witness"*), and closes *"Used to be simple… Now it's all symbols."* The code *"INSIDE OF THE INSIDE"* is, word for word, The Circle's central refrain, and the poem's *"turn back the stone / From the inside"* re-images that as a resurrection rolled back from within: the Circle's inward turn made personal, and precarious.

A handwritten aphorism rather than a drawing: *"Thought-Forms / It is Man that anthropomorphises his gods. Images formed in mind."* The title borrows the old Theosophical doctrine that mental activity throws off literal shaped forms, but Roy bends it toward a sharper claim: man projects a human face onto the divine and then mistakes the mental image for a god. It is the reflexive mirror at the heart of the whole project, stated in one line.
