The Pattern is not one of them. It is Roy's, written in his own hand on a sprawling personal spreadsheet, in the cell about Hermetic correspondence, and the line reads, flatly, *"The Pattern is present on all levels."* The idea it names is old, simple to say, and bottomless to actually hold: there is one structure, and it recurs at every scale. If that holds, then myth, film, music, biology, and number stop being separate subjects and become the same sentence written in different alphabets, three languages, thirty, to describe one thing. And you are in the correspondence too: the self is one more instance of it. > > The guardrail comes pre-installed, in the author's voice. In the same breath as building the whole correspondence cosmology, Roy shrugs it off: *"I would map a crow onto Mercury, but that's just personal. I don't recommend you do it."* So the rule for this page, and honestly the safest rule for the whole guide: **license the lens, not a master key.** Roy holding the Pattern is grounded; any given song *encoding* it is a separate claim that has to be earned song by song. What the Pattern does across the work is quieter than explaining every lyric. Roy purposefully put it in public view, which is why this guide can read it at all. > > And because it is a person's actual spreadsheet, not a finished treatise, the cosmic apparatus keeps cracking into comedy: the kangaroo in a hoodie pasted into the cosmology images with no explanation; koan one-liners filed beside the rose-cross (*"Maybe a planet is one star's way of becoming another star"*; *"I love peeing and I love trees"*); and a straight-faced derivation of *the greatest song ever written* that works through "what is music?" and lands, deadpan, on **Happy Birthday.** The board is a cosmology *and* a sketchbook, and it never decides which. "As above, so below" descends from the Emerald Tablet, and the Kybalion's seven principles (Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause-and-Effect, Gender) are transcribed on the board *in full*, with the Mentalism premise compressed into one cell: *"All the world is mind. The board braids Hermeticism with Kabbalah, Jung, Alice Bailey, Walter Russell, and Plato, and on his 2025 feed Roy names the lineage out loud, with **Neville Goddard** as the lead influence and his mother as the first channel (*"He who plants a seed believes in God"*). Because those traditions share a perennialist root, the project's other concepts naturally rhyme with the Pattern: [[Source vs Reflection]] echoes correspondence, [[Duality]] echoes polarity, [[The Loop and the Circle]] echoes the cycle. The honest read is that the rhyme is a property of the shared root, not, by itself, proof that Roy deliberately cross-encoded one page into another. The board's typed creation poem and the released song are the same myth composed twice, once as text and once as a recording, which grounds the creation-myth-as-self-portrait reading as Roy's own framing rather than a reader's projection: *"I spoke the words 'One become Two'… A Darkness and a Light… when we crashed and came together, A Sun was born inside… one day We'll get back together and see The Great Design."* > > Read against the board's polarity material, "One become Two" reads as the [[Sir Lucius|Roy/Lucius]] split written as cosmology; in Lurianic Kabbalah's terms it reads as the breaking of the vessels, with the reunion as the regathering. Both are strong readings, not statements. And one guardrail travels with them: read *down* onto the actual Roy and Lucius, the poem promises no merger. Correspondence rhymes the poles; it does not dissolve one into the other. The polarity is held in right relation, not one side swallowing the other. > [!mask]- The decoder ring is the counterfeit > Every good lens has a counterfeit, and the Pattern's is the master key. Finding a place to apply a concept you already know, across a career's worth of songs, is not hard; you can make everything either meaningful or derivative, and the choosing is yours, which means the mapping proves less than it feels like it proves. Roy supplies the warning himself (the crow and Mercury), and the board supplies the test case: a typed list titled **"The Pattern Represented in Movies,"** 22 films. The list is real and it is Roy's own concept-index, but it does not confirm this guide's concepts; it shows Roy curated a film-set indexing his *own* Pattern. It is not a decoder. > > So before any "this song encodes the Pattern" claim earns its place, it has to pass a short gauntlet: Is the feature distinctive, or could it fit anything? Does it recur where it would matter? Is there source evidence for it? Are there counterexamples? Does the reading predict anything the reader did not already choose? And one more, for the guide's own hygiene: never let one interpretive page become the evidence for another. Go back to the songs. It is the same trap flagged at [[The Labors of Hercules]]: a real frame Roy engages that turns into a snare the moment you start back-fitting it. > [!map]- A thread five years long > The axiom has a public timeline, and it runs the length of the project. The "AS ABOVE SO BELOW" title card in [[Down to You]] (2021) put it on screen years before the board surfaced, sitting beside a concept-of-self manifesto (*"To change the world one must first change the concept of the world… of one's self"*) that reads near-verbatim Neville Goddard, a named-influence lead still being checked against a Goddard primary. The board era (2022) writes the frame out longhand. And several of the board's "Tracks" titles later surface as [[Hall of Mirrors]] unlock-codes, Roy-confirmed for at least two: **Marduk** (*"Marduk. You've got to pay Attention"*) and **CAKE** (Let Them Eat Cake). Per-song mapping needs per-song anchors, never back-fit, and the honest version of this page also names where the principles *don't* illuminate, not only where they do. **Were the board's "Tracks" ever recorded?** Several titles are realized as Hall of Mirrors codes, so the medium may be the maze rather than an album; do not treat the list as a music release without audio. **And the standing brake:** recurrence alone does not prove deliberate intent. Patterns can emerge collaboratively, unconsciously, through inherited style, or through the audience's own choosing, and a reading that fails somewhere should be recorded, not buried.
