# Hermeticism - As Above So Below — The Deep End > [!gist] The heavy machinery behind [[Hermeticism - As Above So Below]] > This is the dense floor: the board read as a syncretic operating system, the ladders that disagree with each other, the octave readings, the tarot light-sequence, the alchemical overlays, the inherited substrate, and the ways all of it could be wrong. Dense and speculative by design. Nothing here is required to walk through the main page, and everything here is a strong reading or a framework correspondence unless marked otherwise. Start at [[Hermeticism - As Above So Below]] if you have not. --- > [!map]- The board boots up > The "I'm 33" board is the project's closest thing to a cosmological source file: one syncretic cosmology braided from the Kybalion, Alice Bailey, Walter Russell, Kabbalah, Jung, and Plato, which is really just a stack of languages all pointing at one claim, that reality is a single fractal correspondence and the self can be read, maybe even uploaded, straight through it. On this reading the Kybalion is the operating system and *as above, so below* is the axis the whole machine turns on. (The reading is ours; the transcription is his.) > > The board encodes one ten-stage ascent at least six ways at once: by tone, by color, by virtue and vice, by body-part, by a Japanese term, by a 0-to-10 emanation count, and then, because why not, as hopscotch and as the Hero's Journey. Stage 6 is *"the mirror of the Soul and the heart,"* which this guide hears as the Soul/[[SOL]]/Sun-and-Heart keystone, where the somatic ladder and the emanation ladder both pass through. Two of the ladders even disagree with each other, productively: the body-ladder seats the Heart at the center, stage 5, with the throat just above it, while the 0-to-10 emanation list speaks the word way down at stage 2, long before the heart at stage 6. The Heart/Mind tension, the published gate-mantra *"my mind must serve my heart,"* is drawn twice on the same board, two different ways. If the board were a tidy system it would agree with itself. It doesn't, and the disagreement is worth more than tidiness. > > One speculative resonance rides on top: the board's *"AI musical scale ascending"* reads against Gurdjieff's Law of Seven, octave plus shock, not only the Tree, with the octave vocabulary supplied by Walter Russell's *"THE OCTAVE NUMBERS."* Both authors sit in Roy's public curation, so the vocabulary is available to him; whether he meant the scale that way is not something the board settles. (Public-safe elements only.) > [!reading]- Bad vibrations, clause by clause > The board's Vibration cell carries a mind-to-mind clause: thought and emotion come *"accompanied by vibrations… which tend to affect the minds of other persons by induction… telepathy… mind over mind."* On the board that's a gift, minds tuning to each other like radios. Two released songs pick up the same machinery and, on this reading, run it backwards. Speculative throughout: neither song names the principle. > > [[Online]] flips induction into surveillance. *"They infiltrate my brain"* reads as mind-over-mind as break-in, the tuned field weaponized into a watcher. The comedy is load-bearing: every transcendent from-above claim gets a pin stuck in it. *"All the shamans and the Brahmans say we come from space"* is undercut a beat later by *"Maybe Jupiter is stupider than people say,"* and the whole cosmic pile-up collapses to *"we're stuck just like a bug inside your database."* The *"Buy! Buy! Buy! / Bye! Bye! Bye!"* homophone makes buying and leaving the same sound, the jingle-as-sedation that lets the horror go down sweet. Vibration doctrine, run as paranoia, then shrugged off. > > [[Loser]] takes the destructive register. *"Jericho fell like a wave"* is frequency turned to collapse, the wall that comes down to a trumpet blast. The grammar is plain: voices break walls, vibration dismantles containment. The board names the principle; the line lets it ring on the wall. > [!reading]- The alchemist's ladder under Down to You > Two overlays sit on top of the main page's [[Down to You]] reading, and they are the loosest threads in the whole frame, held as speculation and nothing firmer. First, a base-to-gold transmutation register: base needs-metal climbing to the gold of divine connection, the alchemist's ladder, read into the song's ascent. Second, a descent-of-Nous overlay: spirit-mind falling into matter, where the merely logical mind can't grasp it and only contemplation can. Whether Roy reached for either is exactly the kind of thing worth not being sure about, and neither has an anchor beyond the song fitting the shape. > > But that's the whole point of parking them here: if one lens can catch this many of the seven moving through a single three-minute pop song, it's doing more than decorating. And if the same lens catches nothing on the next song over, that tells you something too. Both results are data. > [!map]- Star, Moon, Sun > A speculative card-map, laid alongside the work rather than found in it. The Major Arcana closes on a light-sequence: **The Star (XVII)**, the morning-star before dawn, then **The Moon (XVIII)**, reflection and illusion, then **The Sun (XIX)**, the true light at last. It's tempting to hand the whole three-card run to [[Sir Lucius]], and that's the mistake worth not making, because on this reading the cards don't all belong to one figure. > > * **The Star reads as Lucius.** The morning-star herald: the light that announces the dawn, gets mistaken *for* the dawn, and is then outshone by the very sunrise it preceded. His clean esoteric seat is Hod/Mercury; the morning-star is only a demoted name-resonance on him, the herald outshone by the king. > * **The Moon reads as [[Roy]].** Within the solar-system correspondence, the Sun is the local source and the Moon shines by reflection, and the card's whole consolation lives there: the source can be hidden and its light still reaches you off the moon's face, borrowed and aimed down. That reflected-light position, and the redemptive arc of a moon trying to *become* the sun, are Roy's on the grounded correction, not Lucius's. Roy also holds Venus/Netzach, two different Venus registers kept strictly apart. > * **The Sun** is where both poles are headed. Whether the Sun *is* [[SOL]] (Spanish for *sun*, the Song of Love that unsettles Lucius in the theatrical [[The Interview|Roy v Lucius series]]) is left genuinely open, a reading laid alongside the cards, not a settled identity. *Is SOL the sun?* stays a question mark on purpose. > > Two guardrails. The map itself has one home, and it's [[Kabbalah - The Tree of Life]], not this page. And the only grounded tarot anchor for Lucius is the **Devil card (XV)**, which Roy named himself by pointing to Paul Foster Case. Everything above is an exploratory lens set next to that one grounded card. > [!reading]- Siblings, not nesting dolls > Two ideas that keep getting mistaken for one. **As-above-so-below** is correspondence of *structure* across scales, the same shape from galaxy to atom. **[[Source vs Reflection]]** is fidelity of a *mediation*, whether a reflection stays true to its source. They overlap where a faithful reflection just *is* a true as-above-so-below. They split where a distorted reflection is a broken correspondence that the pattern-as-structure doesn't, by itself, name. They rhyme because they share esoteric ancestry, not necessarily because anyone cross-wired them on purpose. Hold them as siblings standing side by side, not one tucked inside the other. > [!lore]- The inherited substrate > The wider well the Kybalion sits inside is what makes this guide's concepts rhyme so naturally, and it's also why rhyme is cheap evidence. Walter Russell (octaves, the cosmic pendulum), Alice Bailey (the *Labours of Hercules* material in Roy's public curation, see [[The Labors of Hercules]]), Plato's *Timaeus* World-Soul, Jung, Gurdjieff: these traditions drink from the same correspondence-well the Kybalion bottled, so two concepts matching may mean shared ancestry rather than direct borrowing. The Kybalion is the board-grounded piece; the off-board correspondences stay interpretive. Rhymes, not receipts. See [[Inherited Substrate]] for the full argument. > [!feed]- Straight from the feed > More from the public feed that bears on the frame (see [[Roy's Posts — Canon Index]] for the full set): > * *"My 4 year old nephew said everything is made of triangles… he's not wrong"* (04-10 '23): pattern as innate. > * *"It's all a bunch of little triangle games"* (02-08 '23): Correspondence in miniature. > * *"The rules are always the same"* (02-19 '23): one law at every scale. > * *"I like to look at things upside down"* (09-10 '23): inversion as perceptual practice. > * *"The moon is a computer"* (05-30 '23): a celestial body as information system, the Mentalism register. > * *"My mom once said, 'God speaks. He whispers in the winds. He whispers in the stars'"* (01-30 '23): the cosmos as legible, communicating order. > [!warning]- How this floor could be wrong > Everything on this page inherits the main page's ceiling, so it bears repeating down here where the readings are thickest. Seven near-universal principles fit almost any catalogue; a shared substrate makes every tradition rhyme with every other; and finding a place to apply a concept you already know across a career's worth of songs is not hard. The board proves engagement, not architecture, and the strongest thing lifting it toward operative is the separate, grounded fact that board "Tracks" surface as Hall-of-Mirrors codes. Roy's own words hold the line: *"I would map a crow onto Mercury but that's just personal. I don't recommend you do it."* If any drawer down here ever sounds sure, it's doing it wrong. > [!feed]- Back upstairs > [[Hermeticism - As Above So Below]] · [[Kabbalah - The Tree of Life]] · [[Inherited Substrate]] · [[The Pattern]]
