An unseen DJ lobs softball questions about the music; what actually unfolds is a man arguing with himself across a table about who owns the work. Played straight, it's a custody battle over a catalog. *"You mean OUR music?"* Lucius asks in EP1, and from there the two of them fight — episode after episode — over authorship, over money, and over one song Roy keeps trying to release that Lucius keeps shutting down. The comedy is real (Lucius cues up chart-toppers by pressing a browning banana like a play button) and so is the menace (by EP6 he simply has Roy kidnapped). It is the closest thing the project has to a narrative, and dozens of songs land differently once you've watched it. The set never changes much: an underground garage in greenish light, a small altar-table between two chairs, a fruit bowl of green apples and bananas, two red candles, an Egyptian statue tucked underneath, Tree-of-Life pillars, and a moon-like light hung over each shoulder. Lucius wears white clown makeup, a rabbit-eared hat, and the Hebrew tattoo *El Roi* on his neck. He is almost always smoking. Quotes are short on purpose; watch the episodes for the full scenes. **EP1 — The War Begins** · released July 31, 2025 The fight opens: *"You mean OUR music?"* Lucius claims authorship of the hits — *"happy face, bad feeling, hundreds of millions of streams. Those are me. You need me"* — and Roy fires back the line that defines their whole relationship: *"I made you."* Lucius's parting shot: *"You naive little god. Roy brings his favorite song he's ever written — *The Song of Love* ([[SOL]]) — and barely gets through a few bars before Lucius cuts him off: *"STOP!!! No one wants this love stuff."* Then he works every lever at once — the label, the money, the people Roy employs ("Michael's about to have his first kid"), the "you're 37, living at your parents' house" jab — and plays *Not Your Homie* off a pressed banana. *"It's nonsense. It's all nonsense,"* he says, with satisfaction. He mocks Roy's lowest-streaming, most vulnerable song (*"Ballerina Boy. When you're vulnerable you LOSE!"*), overrides *The Song of Love* a second time, and bananas up [[Welcome to the Circus]]. Roy sits alone staring into a spoon; Lucius wanders up eating an apple, childlike, and needles him — *"You're very strange."* Roy: *"Says the rabbit clown. Roy, having lost the wheel, tries to take the project back by taping up **STOP SIR LUCIUS** flyers around the city (a campaign that was real — the same flyers and a freeway banner went up across Los Angeles at release). Lucius has him grabbed off the street, bag over the head. His henchman Leif does the dirty work — *"Boss, look. I got — I got this"* — while Lucius waves him off, unbothered: *"I can't be stopped. The centerpiece is the **moth speech**, cheerful nihilism with the charm stripped off: *"If a moth mistakes a flame for a mating call and flies into the flame, so what? It just keeps the moth population down."* The one track he can't get through is *The Song of Love* — when it plays he gets agitated, has Roy taken out of the room, then sits alone and listens to it finish, visibly unsettled.
